An RCA secret postcard by Gillian Carnegie will be auctioned on 13 February 2013 by Sothebys in London. The card featured in RCA secret 1997 and is a classic early painting by Carnegie, a former student of the college, who was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2005. The estimate on this card is £5000 to £7000. A lot of money for something that cost £30 at the time but well worth it in my view. Click here to view the lot.
In other news the college have said the deadline for artists to return their finished cards to the college is valentines day, 14 February 2013. How romantic. The college will doubtless get more anonymous cards on that day than Johnny Depp.
Finally some early contributor news. Anita Klein (2011 card pictured) revealed to her twitter followers that she has again donated 3 cards to the sale. Anita supports the sale every year with beautiful cards. This year is clearly no exception.
An unofficial fan's blog. The annual Royal College of Art Secret postcard exhibition and sale (RCA Secret) takes place in London each year. The show features postcard sized pieces of contemporary art for sale in a variety of media by a large number of varied artists.

Are we getting ready?
Are we getting ready for RCA Secret 2013. Now that Christmas is over it's rather nice isn't it to have something to look forward to in these cold days of winter? Hopefully the weather will have warmed up considerably before we hit the streets of Battersea.
Some good preparation comes in the form of the London Art Fair in Islington next weekend. Always a good chance to see a variety of work by numerous RCA Secret contributors. If you do go make sure you visit the project areas on the second floor.
